Mike's Story
After school I went to work for Kansas City Southern Railroad, I retired from there after 34 years as a Director in their Accounting Department. With the stock market crash in 2008, retirement was not looking as good as I had visioned, so I went back to work for another railroad called Watco Industries. Stuck around that railroad for another 5 years and retired again as Asst Vice President of their Accounting Department. I have been married to my best friend and wife for 41 years as of May 2019. Her maiden name was Pam Hevalow and she graduated from NKC in 1973. We have 2 lovely daughters who also went to Oak Park, graduating in 1998 and 2000. We have 4 grandchildren and we spend a lot of time watching my grandsons play baseball. My oldest daughter has bee...Expand for more
n dancing since she was 3 years old and after being laid off from work in the corporate world, she decided to follow her passion and open up her own dance studio in Liberty. So my wife and I continue to attend many dance recitals and tournaments watching all 4 of my grandchildren compete in dance. Since retiring at age 60, in addition to attending dance and baseball with the grandkids, I keep pretty busy playing golf, pool and bowling. I do have a part-time job working one day a week in the Pro-shop at Staley Farms Golf Course. Gives me a few golf perks and close to the house. So if you play golf you might see me hanging around Staley Golf Course in the summer. Pam and I also like to travel at least 3 or 4 times a year seeing different states and countries.
