Mike's Story
Life
Shannon and I have been together since our first semester of college, over 20 years ago! We have been married for 15 years and now have (2) children. Tessa is 5-1/2 and Aaron is 4 years old. They are both very active; too active for such old parents!
I race home to Uniontown from work in Cleveland every night to play with the kids and basically gave up all of my hobbies to find more time with them. I do find time (rarely) to play some music, work on old cars and make beer/wine.
Catch me at the Maize Valley Winery as "Me and This Other Guy" playing acoustic guitar songs from the greatest era... Ours!!!
College
I've got 6 years of college!! OK, but only a 4-year degree. ;) I worked my way through...Expand for more
Electrical Engineering at Akron U by schlepping guitars at Falls Music Center. Kept my long hair while playing guitar in bars all night until I graduated. Ah, the 80s.
Had a good time working and dating Shannon through college and ran into a few folks from CFHS. Didn't really enjoy Akron U, but it provided a good degree to have in the end.
Workplace
After putting in the years of machine automation in a foundry (nasty place) and then selling machine automation equipment, I've landed a really great job. I am an instructor with Rockwell Automation, where I teach robotics and safety automation. I get to play with automated equipment, and have even made several international videos explaining our product.
