Mike's Story

Life I grew up on Harpswell road, left Maine in 77, hitch-hiked around the country for about a year, and joined the Army in 1978. I retired from the Army in 1998, and stayed here in Missouri, where I continue to work for the military as a Government employee. I have been married twice, first marriage split after Desert Storm, and remarried after I retired from the Army, to Dee, who am still together with. I have one daughter from my first marriage who resides in Germany with her mom. From my second marriage, I inherited 3 step kids, which means I am also a grand daddy to 4 kids. ldiers. I am also a Shriner and a Mason, so we keep quite busy. While in the Army, I served in Italy, Germany, Panama during the conflict there, Somalia, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosovo, Croatia, Fort Hood Texas, and finally at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, where I retired. Since retiring, I was a contractor for military robotics (mine and bomb clearing) where I trained soldiers in Afghanistan, Europe (to include Bosnia, and Croatia), and soldiers deploying to Iraq. I took a Government job in 2004, for something a little more stable and naturally for a lot more money. I grew up with Scott Favreau, who lived close to me, and the Laudermilks, and Coffins, who lived down the road, where we definately had some of the best Hockey, Baseball, and Football games.
