Mildred's Story
Hello fellow classmates...how long ago it's been (55 yrs) yet, how so yesterday it seems we were once young...with all of life ahead of us.. Have so many happy memories of my old alma mater and of several nursing students who graduated with me class of '61. Hope all have been blessed to see their hopes and dreams come true thro the years. As for me I was fortunate to enjoy a long and rewarding career. After graduation I continued working at Unity Hospital in the OR for another 10 years. I married and eventually moved to LI. Had 3 daughters all the while working as an LPN in the OR until 1989 when I graduated SSCC as RN. And, thro continuing education also obtained my ...Expand for more
CNOR. On LI worked Smithtown General for 20+ yrs, Brookhaven General for 8 yrs ... culminating at Stony Brook University ASC when in 2006 I retired. Lived briefly upstate NY near Cooperstown, Florida west coast near Ocala, and now reside in Kalamazoo, Mi. near two of my daughters. Have 5 grand and two great grandchildren who are the delight of my life. At 71 am in remarkably good health (PTL) thanks to modern meds that keeps things under control. Night driving is a bummer for me, but otherwise am able to get around and remain fairly active thanks to wonderful friends and my church family.
