Life After graduation from Wilkinsburg, I attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated in1963 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I moved to Baltimore, Maryland and worked for the Martin Marietta Company foe 4 ½ years. In 1965, I married Janet Hazelton who was teaching high school in Philadelphia. We had met at a mutual friend’s wedding. Janet and I have lived in Joppatowne, MD since 1968. In 1967 and I joined the Army’s Edgewood Arsenal (Chemical and Biological Defense Research and Development Center) at Aberdeen Proving Ground. I was engaged in aerodynamics research for 25 years and was the Branch Chief for 11 years. . We had 5 wind tunnels and worked mostly on ordnance. When Edgewood dissolved it weapons mission, I headed up the Modeling and Simulation program for 7 years until I retired in January 1999. After being retired for 6 years, I have just started consulting on a part time basis for Edgewood (wind tunnel work). Since I retired, I wrote an 800 page history of the aerodynamics research at Edgewood that was published as an official Army history report. I also cataloged and printed a book of photographs that Janet’s father had taken after he retired. Both Janet‘s and my fathers are dead but our mothers are still living.
