Mildred's Story
We moved to Alexandria from Ft. Belvoir when I was starting 4th grade where I attended Robert E. Lee School, then to Jefferson and on to GWHS. We lived at the corner of Wilkes and Payne Street till I was starting my senior year. I was raised by my Mom and my Dad's Mother. I have such wonderful childhood memories of the old neighborhood and GWHS. I had a handful of good friends that I walked the halls of GWHS with each morning. I remember a lot of you fondly through sitting in the classroom with you and especially the class clowns and you know who you were.
When I started my Freshman year I was already going with Mack Lloyd which I married my senior year. We had one son together, Mack Jr. who was paralyzed from the chest down due to an auto accident back in 1989....Expand for more
On August 1, 2018 Mack Jr. passed away and just 9 weeks later his Dad (Mack Sr.) passed away on Oct., 8, 2018. My husband Mike and I had taken care of Mack for almost 30 years. He was the joy of my life!! About 4-5 years ago I took on the job as our class representative. It has been such a blessing to me, being able to reconnect with so many of you and sad at the same time to learn how many have already passed away. I enjoy reading your posts and hearing about your life and seeing your photos. If you are on Facebook and haven't found our class page yet, let me know or if you are in contact with someone from our class let them know. If you are still locale we have quarterly luncheons in Alexandria and Manassas and would love to have you join us. Thanks everyone
