Milton's Story
After leaving Coronado I attended Texas Tech for a 1 1/2 years. Deciding that this was going no where, I joined the US Navy and became an Air Traffic Controller.
Two years of duty at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, VA, followed up by one of the greatest adventures of my life serving about the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk for the 1 1/2 years left on my enlistment.
Along the way in the Navy I got married and my son was born.
In 1980 I left the Navy and moved to the Los Angeles area where in August of 1981 I was offered an Air Tra...Expand for more
ffic Controller job at Los Angeles Int'l airport. For 5 years worked in the radar room at LAX. Got divorced and remarried.
In 1986 transferred to the Dallas/Ft.Worth radar room where I worked until 1996.
Moved to Denver in 1996 and have enjoyed the Colorado outdoors ever since. Camping and skiing taking up most of my free time.
In February of 2008, I decided to call it a career and retired with over 30 years of Federal service.
Doing mostly what I want these days, still working some, but just part time when the mood strikes me.
