Minnette Smith:  

As a mid-term Milby grad, I started to Sam Houston (very short-lived) immediately after graduation in January 1956. Since I wasn't able to find a summer job, I took a permanent job in First City Bank in the summer of 1956 and stayed 3 years, during which time I married Loomon Smith, a great guy I met at Manchester Baptist Church. We have two daughters who live in the Austin area. Loomon died in November 1986. From 1959 through 1985, I was employed by Conoco in various secretarial/executive assistant positions. In 1985, I "retired" to complete my education, and hopefully, get a "real" job. Ha, ha! Little did I know how much my life would change in the next two years. After many years of night-school, I finally earned a BBA in finance from the University of Houston in 1990.
