Life I went to the University of Oregon and graduated in 1969 with a degree in Elem. Ed. I got married that summer and went to Germany in December as my husband was in the Army. While there, we traveled to several countries. I taught kindergarten from Jan. 1971- Feb. 1972. We came back to the US in March and came to Moscow, Idaho for him to get his Master's. Two years later we were divorced and I've been teaching here ever since. I've remarried and have a great husband, two wonderful sons and as of June 2004, a beautiful daughter-in-law. I've been teaching 2nd grade since 1973 and plan to retire at the end of this school year.* My husband teaches Earth Science at Moscow Junior High. Considering I only planned to stay in Moscow for two years in '72, I guess you might say that I planted my roots and they took hold. * The school year's over and I turned in my key. It's a rather bittersweet feeling. I'm looking forward to having time to try my hand at writing a children's book, decorating wedding cakes and getting my yard back in shape after a year of babysitting my son's puppy during the work day. As I list things I want to do, I wonder "How did I ever have time to teach?" It's 2009 already... How did that happen? I've been retired 4 years in June.
