Mitch's Story
"The more things change, the more they stay the same.." That no longer applies as Cheryl (JFK '74) and I did what apparently may be unique. We both retired from our jobs on the same day - 9/29/23, Then a few days later moved into our new home in southern Delaware. We had been planning this for awhile and are very busy settling into this new and probably our final chapter.
As for our guys, son #1, Evan, is the head strength coach at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania (go Mounties!) Son #2, Jared, lives in Charleston, South Carolina and is in sales.. n Joshua is turning 4. I continually tell my daughter that she needs to write a book about her experiences as a 911 operator and volunteer firefighter.
This part of the profile used to focus on my professional life. With that no longer being the case, I can still look back and see how fortunate I was to do professionally what I grew up wanting to do. Twenty years in radio and television followed by nearly 30 years in public relations was a good run. And while I may be getting older, for fun I still umpire baseball and softball, mostly the Little League and Babe Ruth levels.
For those of us who made it to the JFK "50+1" reunion - I hope you agree it was worth the trip. Please - let's continue to stay in touch and I hope all of you are doing well.
