Life I have two wonderful boys and have been married for 26 going on 27 years. My oldest son John is 25 and a Staff Sargent in the Air Force. He has served for 6 years. After basic training in San Antonio and seven months of Aircraft Mechanic Tech School in Wichita Falls his first assignment was Eielson AFB about 32 miles south of Fairbanks. John is a Crew Chief on the F16 and saw many days of -72 degrees! John and I drove his Honda Prelude from our home in Irving to his new base. It was November 2001 and 4500 miles later we arrived after six days of driving. I turned 40 in Utah and was grateful I would be flying home. John spent four years in Alaska with many short assignments all over the US, Japan and Singapore. We dodged Korea and Iraq many times until now. John transferred from Alaska to Holloman AFB in Alamagordo, NM where he worked on the F117 Stealth. It was nice to have him only an hours plane ride away after so many years!
