Molly's Story
.Upon graduating from RHS I went right on to Portland State. I made quite a few new friends, learned to play Pinochle and met my husband. We were often partners and as those things do, one thing lead to another and now we have been married 48 years this year and have 4 daughters and 2 granddaughters. I never did finish college as life just seemed to get in the way. However, I did work in the medical field, first as a Nurse's Aide and later as a Certified Medical Assistant. At one point I worked as an instructor and Extern Coordinator in a vocational college. I retired from OHSU in 2007.
We did a lot of motorcycling in the mid 70's and 80's, vacations and week-ends. We had a Norton and then a BMW. When you have 4 kids its one way to get a little alone time. Favorite trips were to Victoria and Vancouver, BC., the Canadian Rockies, Glacier National, Idaho, and all over Oregon top to bottom and sideways. Due to my husband's health and some surgeries all that went by the wayside in 1992.
We do still have the beach house and I am again living in my childhood home as I inherited it when my folks passed away in 1977 (8 mos. apart). I just couldn't bring myself to sell the old place so all 4 of my girls graduated from Roosevelt, too.
For those of you that remember I was active in Job's Daughters (Bethel 4) I am now the mother of 4 past Honored Queens and the grandmother of the new Marshal of the same Bethel. I am also a Past Guardian.
I have continued to take pre Nursing courses at PCC and am only a couple of credits shy of my Assts. Degree in Allied Health. I plan on taking another course in January if all goes well. My manta "Never stop learning."

ident of my local chapter and in 2010-2011 I was state president. I am retiring from a national board in January that has allowed me travel to Chicago and Phoenix twice a year for the past 5 years and learn much about the Standards of the profession. I loved working with the patients and docs, it's nice to feel needed.
My granddaughter and I share a love of musicals and we attend as many as the pocket book will allow. My husband likes Opera and so we go a couple times a year. We loved going to Ashland for the plays but with the advent of dialysis for my husband much of our traveling has been curtailed. He did go to Chicago with me in August and got to see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field. We are die-hard Mariner fans and try to get to Seattle for several games a year. If we arrange for dialysis ahead of time, we can work around it.
So far we have traveled to New York, Washington DC, Boston and England. We think we will try for Baltimore and maybe a cruise if we can pre-schedule the dialysis. "God willing and the creek don't rise". I did get to Graceland with a friend 4 years ago and that was pretty fabulous.
I love running into classmates in the store or restaurants. So nice to do a little catching up. I am still a reader and never go anywhere without a book. Mysteries are my favorites and I tend to read every book "my" authors publish:
Baldacci, Margolin, Grisham, Grafton, Fielding, Roberts and some Patterson (only to name a few). I do enjoy Delinsky , Hildebrand, and Picot for a change of pace. I love to cook and try new recipes.
Hope this finds you all in good shape for the shape you're in and know that I really have very happy memories of RHS and the friends I made there. Wishing you all great days to come. Fifty years!!! Where did they go??
