Molly's Story

Life After living in London (2003), I'm back in california, trying to decide where to head next. I spent a year living and studying in france (2001), and ended up getting my degree in french language. additionally, i got my dream job, working as a snorkeling/diving instructor with club med in the bahamas (1999), but it turned out not to be a dream, so i quit and came back to america. when i haven't been living out of the country, i've spent time moving back and forth between highland and san diego. san diego was great, but i think that i appreciate it more now than when i was living there. I just finished my teaching credential- so I am looking for jobs to teach either French or History- but I am planning on moving out of state in the next 6 months or so-- possibly to the East Coast. School not quite sure what to write for this one, since high school seems ages ago, and if you're from RHS, then you already know what it was like there and perhaps what i was like there. College how does someone who never liked going to school become a teacher? from RHS, i went to cal state san bernardino-- not a bad school, but i wasn't too happy to be in college when i wanted to be travelling and moving around. i transferred to crafton for a semester (i think that basically everyone has to go to crafton for atleast a semester). then i moved to san diego and went to mesa college for another semester, then back to csusb, then to cal state san marcos in san diego count...Expand for more
y, then back to csusb (i just couldn't stay away!), then to the universite aix-marseille in france, then back to csusb for one final quarter (and what a quarter, i did everything backwards and wound up taking freshman comp, the writing requirement, the lit requirement and college algebra) all in my last quarter, finally graduating with a BA in French Language and Culture. I just finished my teaching credential in French and History at the U of R. I've been thinking about Master's programs (in History), but we'll have to wait and see what happens. Workplace well, i'm going to leave some stuff out, but let's just say my work history has been a bit colourful. i started working at AMC in San bernardino back in 1995, quit in 97, had a stream of dead end jobs over the next year, then moved to san diego and became a bartender for hornblower cruises (don't laugh!)-- it's a fun job and i've been working there off and on for the past 5 years. i also took a position with club med, in the bahamas as a snorkeling/diving instructor in 1999, but it was short lived. a long story and i'm glad that i got to achieve that dream, but it was not all it was cracked up to be, so i went back to bartending in san diego. in 2003, i spent 6 months working in London and I'm dying to get back (which is part of why got my teaching credential, to get a visa). Right now, i'm back in so cal and it's more dead end temp jobs, since French and History teachers aren't in all that high demand
