Molly's Story
My husband Guy, grand-daughter Angel and I arrived in Guthrie, Oklahoma on my 52nd birthday 2010. We stayed with Guys youngest brother, Sam and his family for 7 1/2 months. It was a little crowded but Sams family made us feel welcomed and at home. My sister in-law, Dawn went above and beyond making us comfortable in every way possible. How did we end up in Oklahoma? My son remarried, got out out of the Army, has a little boy and another one on the way soon. My daughter in-law, Nicole, is still active duty in the Army and was PCS'd to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. She did not want to live with the in-laws (understandable) so my son, Adam asked Guy and I where we wanted to go. It has the small town feel and the locals here are close-knit. We absolutely love it here. So this is where we're going to settle. Angel is so happy and loves her school and has made many friends. I feel safe here, with the exception of the tornado that came through on May 24th. It was scary but we have cellars and storm shelters in proximity. We do not have a vehicle at the moment so we walk everywhere we need to go or take the local Trolley. We acquired our own place on May 7th and have been enjoying the beginning of our new journey. We are looking forward to making new chapters and going on new adventures in our life's story. We feel as though we have finally come home.
