Molly's Story

Life Almost 40 years of life after graduation in 30 words of less. Impossible! Especially for me as I love to talk, about any and evrything. Well, here goes ( and it will not be be 30 words or less). After graduation I attended SWTSU in San Marcus for 2 years and 1 semester at Pan Am. In 1972 I got married, but that marriage did not take, and in 1984 we divorced. 1975 was a good year, my son was born. In 1988 my husband Dennis and I eloped to Las Vegas and were married in a little Chapel - Chapel of the Bells. Remember this as it is important later on in this story. We were living in El Toro, CA at the time. Three years later we moved to East Peoria, IL to help his mom take care of his ailing father who passed away in 1993. My own mother passed away in 1996 and Denny's mother passed away in 2000 after a 7 year battle with breast cancer. In 2003 we came to Texas to visit my sister in Elsa and Denny's brother in Damon. While visiting his brother, we found this old farm house in a community called Wild Peach Village about 3 miles outside of Brazoria and purchased it right then and there. In 2004 we FINALLY moved back to Texas. I never thought this city girl would like living in the country but after living out here for 4 years, I would be hard pressed to find a reason to live in the city again. I can walk out into my back yard at night, look up and see the most beautiful Texas sky. In 2007...Expand for more
we went back to Las Vegas to renew our wedding vows. We picked this place, VIVA LAS VEGAS, and after talking to the manager found out there was a name change. Yep! It use to be Chapel of the Bells. Between us, Denny and I have four children. He has a daughter who is married and has two girls (teenagers now), and two sons. One is married and has a little boy, who was born on my birthday. What a way to make points with the mother-in-law! And another son who recently moved from Illinois to Texas to live with us (temporarily). Thank goodness he is single. No room in this house for more than 1 female in the kitchen!!!! And my son, who lives in Nashville and recently got married. He sure took his own sweet time too, 33 and just getting married! Not that I am pressuring him, but if he takes as long to have children as he did to get married, I will NEVER dance at their weddings. For fun(or frustration) we are completly remodeling our home. Denny is semi-retired and gets bored, and there are days I come home from work to find one side of the house missing (he is replacing the outer walls as we go from room to room) or a hole in the floor where he is replacing the flooring. We have about two more years on this project and it will be finished. We are doing all the work ourselves, NO CONTRACTORS for us. Well that's it! It's been an interesting life. Wouldn't trade any of it for the world. Molly
