Mona's Story
It has been an exciting ride! I recently married for the second time and am living in Jersey City. I have just completed a second Master's degree (Rutgers) and have been a pastor for 16 years. My third career is teaching English in High School. I don't write as much as I want to and still dream about what I will be when I grow up. Even though I am the mother of two grown children and two grandchildren I am still tryin' to make it because I just don't believe God is finished with me yet! I wish all my old friends all the best. I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I struck a delicate balance between being a party animal and a scholar!
My heroes are people like Barack Obama, Maya Angelou, and several personal mentors I look up to.
My inspiration comes from God. I believe Jesus wlaks with me and I am in constant communication with Him seeking his guidance and protection. I guess it is surprising that I got ordained and became a pastor. Just goes to show you God is much more creative then we are.
