Monica's Story
Hello to all my old friends:) AS OF AUGUST 2013 .... I AM NOW ON FACEBOOK TOO :)
Well as you can see I have finally signed up (well for 3 months anyway) on classmates. Turns out I am having a great time surfing through your names. Many names have fond memories attached to them and I enjoy reading all your stories.
It has been a very long time since we have all been together and seeing that I do not go to the reunions ~ this is the next best thing. I played cello in the High school orchestra as well as a cellist in the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. I also played flute in the band. I graduated in January of 1980. I loved music and thought that I might want to join a military band ... so I did. But before all the glory of performing I had to go to Fort Dix N.J. and participate in a 6 week basic training course. Let's just say that it was NOT like the movie Private Benjamin which starred Goldie Hawn. I was honorably discharged after 4 1/2 weeks. this turned out to be a nightmare and was probably the biggest mistake I every made. OK, enough of that.
I went to Monroe Community College and also took some classes at the Eastman school of music.

I have been happily married since 1987, and have been blessed with two very fine young sons. Eric is 25 and Tim is 22. They are both doing very well and have nice girlfriends. Lets not forget my baby girl who is 5 1/2. Actually she is my little toy poodle and her name is Tinkerbelle. I call her my daughter because she is VERY spoiled and does not realize that she is a "dog". She has a closet filled with clothes and my students enjoy her as much as she enjoys seeing them for their weekly lessons. She has been my constant companion and has gotten me through some very difficult times; including losing both my beautiful and loving parents just 80 days apart in 2010. They would have been married almost 60 years ~ it is coming up on 3 years and sometimes I still can not believe that they are gone:(
My sister Michelle is remarried and living in Union Springs. She just became a grandmother again to #5. We get together about once a year.
Our family enjoys music, going to the beach, and taking cruises. Life is good, hope it is good for all of you as well.
