Monteen's Story
Life
After high school, I moved to Clovis, New Mexico until I turned 18. After Clovis, I pursued a job in Columbus, Indiana. After a year, I moved with a roommate to Cincinnati, Ohio to have fun and of course to work. I thought I would enroll in college in Ohio, but I had too much fun doing other things. I reunited with my high school sweetheart, Lyle Solberg, in Williams. We married in June, 1969. In September, 1970 we moved from Williams to San Diego, California with our son, Chris (39). Our second child, Marne (36), was born in San Diego. I have four grandchildren. Jordan (19) and Dylan Christian was born September, 2009 from Chris and two from Marne', Alexis, 9 and Jason, 7. Unfortunately, Lyle and I divorced in January, 2006.
I am the Registrar at La Jolla High School in La Jolla, California since 1987 and I have worked for the San Diego Unified since 1982.
I have been seeing as much of the world as possible. I have been to Fiji in January of 2005 and the UK in July of 2005. Summer of 2006 I went to Alaska and Canada with a friend from work. Spring break 2007 and 2008, I went skiing with friends i...Expand for more
n Parkto Melburne and Sydney Australia to see friends I met in Fiji. In 2008, I visited my sister in Kentucky. In 2009, I was happy to travel to Canada to visit with Mary and Bill Pirie. While I was there Mary's son, Brandon, married sweet Katie. In 2010, I was busy competing with my band at the Scottish Highland games. I took up snare drumming the year before. It's been interesting to play with bagpipes. In 2011 we cut a CD which can we bought on Amazon or CD Baby or at our website, House of Scotland Bagpipe Band. I think it turned out pretty good. In summer 2011, I travelled my good friend Sharon to Indiana and then stayed back there to see my sister. November 2011, my friend James and I went to Panama. If you want to read about the trip go to: Thectproject.com and look under the December issue of the The CTConnection. I'm travelling again to see Mary this summer.
Through my 30's, 40's and 50's I played softball and soccer, but the past few years I have toned it down to playing golf, but once again I played soccer this past summer and I've joined a softball team once again, which I play year-round.
Cheers!!!
