Monty's Story
Life
I never did stray far from my roots in Palestine, I now live in Henderson County just a little north of all my relatives. I married a few years after I graduated college and Laura and I are fast approaching the ten year mark. We don't have any children as of yet, but I have plenty of them I consider my own I deal with on a daily basis at school. For now, my job is to spoil all the nieces and nephews.
I never thought I would end up in the classroom as a profession. I have the desire to make a difference in kids lives, and for now that passion drives me to do the best I can to train kids in a craft that will allow them to earn a decent living in today's world. hat are unique one of a kind and vertually indestructable. In fact my shop kids have nicknamed our projects as "Mainerized" meaning a sledgehammer couldn't tear whatever it is we build apart.
This year will mark my ten year anniversary in the classroom, while my wife is starting year number two. Some day I plan to go back to school to earn my master's in Agribusiness (from Kansas State hopefully). This will allow me to explore a few more options in both the Education and Private sector if I so choose. For now I am going to stick to teaching because I enjoy the challenge.
College
Well I graduated from SHSU in '98 with an BS in Agribusiness. Also managed to pick up my Teaching Certification while I was there.
Workplace
This year will be ten years of teaching for me. Currently I work in a small six man school about an hour south of Dallas. I enjoy the challenge of making a difference in kids lives.
