Muffy's Story
Life
I am a nationally certified sign language interpreter in the Southeast. I own my own business and after a few lean start up years; things are really starting to take off. Which is both gratifying and proof that I chose the correct path.
I graduated from UNCG with a BA in English Lit and GPC with a degree in Sign Language Interpreting. I LOVE my job and it is different every day!! I have never been a 9-5 same place, same people, kind of chic.
I am lucky enough to be an aunt to the most beautiful, brilliant, and funny kids on the planet. (I am aware that I am biased-- and I am okay with that!) I love being the "cool" aunt (there's a first time for everythi...Expand for more
ng!) and I love being able to come home to relative peace and quiet even more!!
I spend my "off time" when I have it, with my family here; and I try and visit Virginia regularly. I am starting to travel more and really enjoy all of the experiences that come with it. I have been able to go to Sweden twice, the Dominican Republic, and will be visiting England and Scotland in October.
The great thing about my job is I can do it all over the US and Puerto Rico, so I can work anywhere. Being able to have a working vacation is a big perk. It also leaves lots of options open for me, so I never really know where the wind will take me. I like it that way.
