Murray (Glassberg)'s Story
I have been living in L.A. since 1946 and have had an incredible career. I was fortunate to be Bob Hope's personal photographer fro,1948 to 1973. I retired from, photography after that. I also had my own firms, GARRETT-HOWARD
and STUDIO FIVE INCORPORATED, both of which were recognized among the very best in Hollywood. For a long time I had assignments to work for most of the leading publications of that era, TIME, LIFE, Fortune, Look, Parade,
Coronet,Architectural Forum and many others. Our firm did as many as 350 record album covers a year during the 50's and 60's, many TV GUIDE COVERS, we were so involved in the music business that I was elected to the West Coast Board of Directors of NASCAP, the folks that give out the GRAMMYS. My name changed from Glasberg to
Garrett, at the request of One of the leading publications of that era. It has been a fantastic journey and I owe a lot

specially to Mr. Bernard Hertzig, who was my home room teacher. Mr. Hertzig and his family, somehow
got my new name and address and spent the better part of a day with us. As the day moved along, with the Hrertzigs who were enjoying a barbecue we made and swimming in our pool, Mr. Hertzig took me aside, he asked me if I would mind driving Into town with him and showing him our studio. I, of course, said I'd love to and we drove in to Hollywood
from my home in the San Fernando Valley. When I undid the alarm and entered the Lobby with Mr. Hertzig. I
turned to see him looking at our work and crying. I was so shocked by that sight, that I embraced him and sat
him down. Bernard Hertzig then told me that he was so proud of my accomplishments that he became overjoyd!
I must say; That "Metro" and Bernard Hertzig deserved a lot of the credit for what was taking place in
my life.
