Nichole's Story
Life
09/08
I've transferred to DePaul University Chicago & am majoring in Sociology and minoring in International and Italian studies. Enjoying life in Chicago and am planning to move to a condo downtown to be closer to all the parks and activities. I have been traveling around the country, including driving cross country on my own various times of the year, job training at different Red Cross chapters, taking short breaks from all the hustle and bustle of life, and now holding fundraising events for the non-profit I'm founding. Studied in Italy for 5 weeks in '07 and recently got back from travel around the world this summer - 11 countries in 2 months: France, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Nepal.
Still no kids but since all of this travel and trying new things has been done my husband and I are looking to calm down for a few years with a family of our own. We are making preparations to start trying for a baby in a year. Just a couple more things to get established before I can take time off for him...or her...but I want a "him".
I'm still a quiet nerd, sort of. I'm always in the books studying, watching the news...oh hell, I even watch CSPAN. But I do like to hang out with buds in Chicago and get a little R&R from school every so often like going skydiving or heading to the firing range.
Now I am more open to learning anything and EVERYTHING! I'm currently studying the Italian langu...Expand for more
age. But since I have found my new life path in Nepal, I am learning Nepali - there are over 100 dialects but the one I am learning is universal for the country.
I don't really talk to people from Westmont anymore - must be my inability to stay in one country at any one time. If I do, it's all long distance and over the net too because they STILL live in Campbell. As much as I wish they'd get out from under their rocks and explore life a little, I still love every one of them. As long as they are happy and comfortable is all that matters to me. Most of my friends live in other countries anyway so if I'm "in town" I visit them when I can.
Well, Chicago is fun, interesting, NEVER boring, and very random. If anyone is ever out here, let me know. We'll go to a Bears or Sox game or something. Look me up on myspace.
