Myra's Story
I just recently retired after 14 years at Cisco Systems in San Jose, Ca. My husband of 27 years, Todd Overgard, is a Program Manager at Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto and has been employed there for 16 years. My daughter, Michelle, is 40 and works at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara. My granddaughter, Rain, is 16 years old and attends Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. Michelle and Rain reside with us and will continue to do so until Rain graduates from HS in 2011.
My daughter is a second degree black belt in martial arts and both my husband and granddaughter are 1st degree black belts. They will both be testing for their 2nd degr...Expand for more
ee black belts in October, 2009. I got as far as my blue stipe belt, but decided not to pursue it any further.
Hobbies include gardening, entertaining, theater, nutrition/health, design and decorating. I'm also very involved in Rain's activities. She is an actor and does a lot of community theater musicals. I volunteer at the various theaters and theater groups for all of her plays and have grown to love it. In January, 2009, I started co-producing musicals at the Sunnyvale Community Theater.
My favorite getaways are my annual trips to Hawaii to see the whales and weekend trips to Grass Valley, where we're thinking of retiring to.
