Myrle's Story

Loren and I are enjoying retirement, but I really think there should be another word for it. We are busier now than ever. We love living in Astoria. When the weather gets to me, we travel somewhere for a week or so.I do have to be careful that it isn't fishing season though. Loren and his buddies fish whenever possible. a Captain in the Coast Guard and stationed on the East coast. Much too far away for us to spend much time with our 3 grandkids out there. Our daughter, Amy, is a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve and a Portland Police Officer. She and her husband, Eric Dehnert, have 2 boys. We do get together with them frequently especially during basketball an baseball seasons. I look forward to hearing from any of our classmates.

Going over Mt Hood. 4 wheel drive was a must.
It' snowing again outside. The guys just took the sled out to the Brewery to refill the growlers. Football and beer.

Ok need to brag. This was an art project for my granddaughter . She is so talented.
The view off our deck. These buildings are built right into the mountain. If you snow ski, you could catch the tram just down the road and get to Heavenly.

Loren and I spent week in Lincoln City just exploring and enjoying, Did something I have wanted to do for a long time. I made a glass paper weight! The process was really interesting. The guy that showed me what to do
We used glass tiles for the first time. They were face papered so we couldn't see if the thin set was coming through until the next day. Leap of faith that we had done it right.
