Life Wow, this is going to be hard! I worked for six months after I graduated at ,where else? Eatons as I had to save to get into the Registered Nurse program. I did my training at St. Boniface Hospital, and in the midst of the training I met the love of my life. I spent six months doing some specialty training as I knew that, once married, I would be working in remote areas. I then went and spent a year doing outpost nursing in the far North of BC. and parts of the Yukon. Married the love of my life (John) and then lost him in a car accident on our honeymoon. Was going to go to McGill to continue my education in public health nursing and follow through with what had been our dream (before John's death). The dream had been to work in the jungles of South America. I took ill and never did get to McGill. Remarried 4 years later only to discover that he was an abusive alcoholic. Lost hope of his recovery ever happening , so divorced and raised my two children alone. I worked as a Director of Nursing in a post psychiatric facility and then on to become a Unit manager in a Long Term care facility. 1992 saw a drastic change in my life when Heart Disease forced me to give up my career. I am now on long term disability and I have finally convinced myself to "smell the roses". I foster dogs for a breeder of Labrador retrievers, write stories that are intended to become children's stories once I am off disabilit...Expand for more
