Myrna's Story

Myrna went on to receive a Masters degree in Biology from Adelphi U. and conducted her research at Cold Spring Harbor, Dept. of Genetics. She received her Doctorate fromTemple University and was the recipient of an award for the most outstanding dissertation. am through which students could earn up to 12 college credits through SUNY, Albany where she was an adjunct professor. She received an award from the National Science Teachers Association for Innovation for the research program.
Myrna continued her studies throughout her career which included 5 summers at Oxford University, U.K. and 8 summers at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. In 1991, she was selected to present a paper at the University of Moscow, Russia at the first joint meeting of American and Russian science teachers.
In 2000, she retired and has spent much time getting "in touch" with her creative side-- devoting time to painting and especially music-- studying at the Westchester Conservatory of Music. The highlight was participating in a concert at Lincoln Center. Now living in Putnam County, she continues to study piano under Joshua Pierce, a world-renown concert pianist.
