Nanci's Story
Life
Hi there friends,
I would like to share my life with you.
My passion is to work in developing countries and help to eradicate extreme poverty.
Not only do I believe it is my moral obligation, it is incredibly rewarding, and a whole lot of fun!
You too can sign up for a ten day adventure. Change your life forever and give much-needed medical help to communities in need around the world.
Join me and the rest of the Medical Team from
"Feed the Children"
We are volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists, teachers, laypersons and non-medical individuals who reach out to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of children and families in developing countries.
Led by Dr. Larry Biehler, Medical Director of Feed The Children, we
go on four mission trips every year.
Here is a breakdown of what happens after each team arrives:
Medical, dental, eye glass, evangelism, bible school and pharmacy clinics are set up;
Clinics are set up in a different village each day where local schools, churches or community buildings house the temporary clinics;
Basic physical assessment and diagnosis is made to patients;
Proper medication or treatment is prescribed;
Prescriptions are filled in our on-site pharmacy free of charge to the patient;
used eyeglasses are fitted by computer from the refurbished stock of donated lenses, again at no charge to the patient;
The dental team treats the tremendous dental needs of the community;
Below is a tentative schedule of trips planned for 2007. Exact costs cannot be determined at this time, due to fluctuating airline ticket costs and foreign money exchange rates.

Cost
The cost for each Feed The Children Medical Team is the responsibility of each member and is tax-deductible. Includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and meals. Exact costs for each team are calculated upon the costs for airfare therefore, they can be quoted only a few weeks before departure date.
Medical Equipment Donations
Although many physicians volunteer to help those in need in their countries, medical services are often unavailable because of a lack of proper equipment. Donations of medical supplies and equipment help physicians throughout the world meet needs of impoverished children and families. These much-needed supplies and equipment help bridge the gap between patients in need and doctors who want to help.
If you have decided to upgrade your medical office or are planning to retire from practice, or if your hospital has equipment that is no longer being used or is in storage, please email Wendy Henderson to donate your used medical equipment. In return, you will receive a donor's receipt acknowledging your donation and suitable for tax purposes.
Current needs include:
Dental hand instruments
Hearing Aids (new or used)
Artificial Eyes (new or used)
Used Eyeglasses
Used medical equipment
Used hospital equipment
I hope you can join us!
Blessings Always,
Nanci
