Nancy's Story
September 21, 2011... I guess I only go on Classmates once a year.. I actually got confused thought I was on myspace, looking for pictures and wondered why they were gone.. but glad I stopped in.. I will give you a quick update.. My health is still good. Living in Henderson, NV. still have rentals in Laughlin, NV & Bullhead City, AZ there just across the river from each other..so I go as often as I can.. My Granddaughter Melissa got married.. still in college in Scottsdale, AZ. her sister Katie is a senior this year and will be 18 in 2 weeks..I feel old. Grandson's Gavin & Geno are doing good, both made Allstars this summer.. Gavin will be 13 in Dec. Geno is 11... Girls are good all single (again).. but that's okay. If it's not working at least they are strong enough to get out.. If you want visit my face book page it's under Nancy Thwaits Laughlin... Hope everyone is safe & healthy. Dec. 2010..Boy it's been a long year. Lots of changes. My health is holding so that's the best I can ask for myself. My children & grandkids are safe & well, so I am blessed. I know what's important in life and what we have no control over. Try not to stress the small stuff because, life is to short & that stuff really dosen't matter in the end anyway. Good friends (don't have enough) & family are lifes greatest treasures... Just got back from CA. my niece was married Dec. 5th in Riverside.. That was great! Went by The Riverside VA Cemetary, Lots of family there, my husband & sister too. Then went on to Westchester & Inglewood. My Aunt in Westchester is 94. My friend Cloyce in Inglewood is not doing well, she has really gone through a lot. Tomorrow I head back to Bullhead City AZ. My grandson Gavin will be 12, can't believe it. He has his last BMX race of the year tomorrow night. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD HOLIDAY SEASON> MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU.
June 2010- A lot has happend this year. My granddaughters are 18 & 16 now. My Grandsons are 10 &11. Still have my place in Scottsdale and also my home in Las Vegas...I go back and forth a lot. Rentals in Bullhead/Laughlin keep me busy. Went to W.KY.U for graduations. Got to see a lot of family in TN. & KY. then went up to No.Cal. spent time with my daughter and then helped her move to Scottsdale, AZ. Went from Redwoods, ocean & fog..to 105 she already has a tan. Both daughters live close, at least for now.
Just had surgery again, at the Mayo in Scottsdale. I'll do a little recovery here and then head home to Vegas. I think that's 7 since Oct. 2004 but that's okay...I've been blessed. If I'm lucky I'll be hear to watch Gavin play Allstars June 21st, Geno is in Bullhead with his Aunt Crystal, he has been racing BMX, having fun doing well. Lorie started racing with Bobby Hilis JR #27 and working on the pit crew. NASCAR has been a blast. Melissa is on summer break from college,so she works a lot.
Nov.2009-Just moved to Scottsdale AZ. time for change (this is a big change). My granddaughter Melissa is going to college here, my daughter Lorie, husband and 2 grandsons live here too. It's nic...Expand for more
e to be close. Got my own place much smaller then I am use to, but it is cozy and near old town. I still have to take care of my rentals in Bulhead City, but it will give me a reason to go back on occasion. My daughter Crystal, granddaughter KatieLee are there & my brother in-law Ric. It's really hard to be away from them.
June 2009> Just got a note from Steve Vera, one of Mickey's best friends from Carson High. Living and well in Las Vegas..really good to hear from him.
My oldest Granddaughter, Melissa 17, has graduated and will be going off to college in Phx. KatieLee is 15 and will be in 10th grade. The boys are now 10 and 8, can't beleive it...My Mom was right,the older we get the faster time flies by.
DID I MISS A WHOLE YEAR? what happend to 2008??
(Aug '07) Took my daughter & 2 grandsons 6 & 8 to CA. for a week, went sportfishing out of Marina Del Rey, to the beach and just had to hit a few rollercoasters. Stayed with Cloyce. Had a great time, It will always be home to me.
Dec.20, 2007...Just heard from an old friend Ronnie Piner from Inglewood,now living in PHX. AZ. brought back lots of memories. We went from elementary to high school.

(July '07) THIS IS MY 1st I married my high school sweetheart Mickey Thwaits (James Michael)in 1971. We went to Germany for 3 years when he enlisted in the Army. Then to Texas where we had our first daughter, Crystal. After the service, we came home to CA. Mickey could never stay away from surfing too long. WE lived in Playa Del Rey, Long Beach then moved inland, by then we had three girls. We went into the trucking business, Mickey drove the eleven western states. Mickey's Dad retired to Bullhead City, AZ. in 1971 on the Colorado River. Swore I would never live there, but in 1986 when his Dad got very ill I gave in, just for a little while.(21 yrs. so far).
I live in Bullhead City Arizona, That's on the Colorado River across from Laughlin NV. I am a Real Estate Broker, I go to California often. I still have my same best friend that I met in 5th grade at Oak Street Elementary in Inglewood,CA. Cloyce Sullenger. I lost the love of my life in 2000 to a heart attack. I have lost all 3 of my sisters' and my parents.
(12-10-07) I have 4 wonderful grandchildren 2 girls 16 & 14 and 2 boys 9 & 7. I love the water, fishing or just being on the lake or river. If it wasn't for that I'd have to be back on the beach, I still crave the smell of salt water!
I still have a surfboard in my garage. Cars are a passion and music, all kinds from Jerry Garcia, the Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, to the oldies and country. The louder the better. Just depends on my mood.
I just found out that Mickey's best friend Lloyd Neagle who went to Carson with us passed away the year after Mickey Sept.of 2001 they were both in the class of 1968.
Does anyone know where Steve Vera is? The three of them were always together, surfing, skateboarding & all were in gymnastics together. Last I heard Steve was in Nevada. Also Danny Brandt?
