Nancy's Story
I retired three years ago from teaching middle school kids communication arts and social studies. I loved teaching and miss the students, but not the constant work. I married a Carbondale, IN neighbor, Sterling Jones, in 1962 and continued college. I graduated from Ball State in 1964. Then, I taught at Seeger for awhile and Battle Ground until 1967. I left teaching to be a full-time mom. Now we have three chidren, ages 42-35, and six grandchildre...Expand for more
n, ages 13-3. I returned to teaching for Carmel-Clay Schools in 1982. We moved to the St. Louis area and I taught for Parkway Schools 1988-2006. Until August, 2009 when my mother passed away, my retirement was filled with being a caregiver to a sweet mom with multiple health problems. Now I'm rediscovering my own life and interests. One thing that I want to do is celebrate graduating from high school in 1960 with as many classmates as I can find.
