Nancy Hylton's Story
Life
I married Don Settle, a William Byrd (1958) graduate in 1966, after I attended Bluefield Jr. College. We are still married and have two grown sons and three grandchildren. Don was in management with a discount department store and until 1976 we moved almost yearly. We returned to Roanoke in July 1976 and have lived in the Hollins area ever since. Don also served as a civil servant with the army reserve for many years and is now retired. Until we returned to Roanoke I was an at home mother. I was employed by Roanoke County Schools as a Instructional Assistant in Special Education until I took early retirement in January 2006.

gh school. I am still a fairly quiet person, but people who know me say that I really came out of my shell after high school. I want everyone to know that I was never stuck-up, I was just very, very shy.
I still have cats for pets and enjoy reading. I have pretty much given up sewing and find flowers and gardening much more exciting. lol
