Nancy's Story
Life
Life has been good -- busy, but good. After St. Florian, I went to Mother of Sorrow high school and from there to Loyola University of Chicago. I majored in chemistry, minored in physics, and, upon graduation, became a paint chemist for Sherwin Williams. After 4 years at Sherwin Williams, I moved to Phoenix for my husband's job. Leaving Illinois was difficult, but it was a good move for me. I was a stay-at-home mom with my children, while attending ASU. I got my Masters degree when my youngest son was 11 months old. I became a teacher, specializing in math and science. I have taught most grades from K through 12, although I prefer the older kids. I was not too happy as an administrator!) I also spent 2 years teaching grade 5 gifted kids. Now I'm back to science -- middle school. I have three wonderful children. Bill (he is a techie for Blizzard), Kai (a therapist who works with LGBTQ adolescents and children), and Tim, (who is an engineer for Zoom). After 19 years of marriage, I was divorced, but am now married to a wonderful man, with two grown children. Our kids have children of their own which makes me a grandmother (of 13!). Two of our granddaughters are now married, and a third is engaged. I have a delightful new great-granddaughter. Who would have thought? And now I’m retired. WOW. Time goes by so quickly. But I've never been happier.
I'd love to hear from my friends. Please e-mail me to let me know about your life!
