Nancy's Story

Everybody remembers me as the Canadian. I got my American citizenship in 1980. Been married twice, Divorced twice. One son. Two degrees BA in Journalism, MA in Humanities. One published book "In Search of My Angel." Worked as a Reporter/editor for Daily News for 16 years. Laid off in 2004. Worked temporarily for Phoenix House got laid off again. Never worked again. Health went down the toilet. Been suffering with diabetes for years. Finally had triple heart bypass surgery in December 2010. Had major infection complications afterwards. In hospital for months. Nearly died several times. Never fully recov...Expand for more
ered. Kept having relapses. Had to live with huge hole in middle of chest for months. After 6 open heart surgeries finally got everything cleared up. Did managed to complete graduate school during this time, too. Live in Granada Hills. Have stayed in the Valley since I moved here in 1968. I am last of my family still living in Valley. Younger sister lives in Brunswick,m Ohio. One brother moved to Las Vegas, and died 2 years ago. Other brother lives in Porterville.. Son and fiancee live with me. I'm on Facebook. Tracer Update: The vet called me today and confirmed my worst suspicions. There is a large mass in Tracer's chest below his sternum near his esophagus and tumors on his liver. So far, he is still eating, breathing normally

Today is my mom's 88th birthday. She died 19 years ago. I still miss her a lot. I know she would be disheartened with the current situation in the White House. I am so grateful for everything she did for me and for everyone
