Nancy's Story
I think my old friends would remember me as loyal, funny, and a good person. When I was very young, I wanted to be a nun...can u believe it? I then thought of being a truckdriver (how silly). I guess it took me a few years or more to realize what I wanted to be. At age 33, I put myself through college. I'm now a nurse. I don't have a lot of memories of school, maybe because it's been so long. I remember friends, good times in marching band, and in track. I remember special moments. I sit and look at pictures of my classmates and honestly don't recognize many. We've obviously grew up, matured, and changed. I see my own children go through things that seem so important to them, and it's familiar to me, only twenty years ago. Now the things that matter to me are so different. or my family, patients, and friends to the best of my ability. It matters that I have a heart of gold. It matters that I've raised my children on my own, and I'm proud. It matters that I'm blessed by God to be able to do so. I remember a few people in particular that I've missed over the years. Pam Jose, Wendy Eckles, and Connie Goodemote....for being my best friends through school. And I remember Shawn Palmiter, who ultimately was the only person who could truly make me laugh. It's nice to know that you made an impact on someone that lasted years. I can only hope I impacted someone the same. I'm most proud that I'm a good mother, that I've raised four children with morals and values, and have brought them up with high self esteem. I'm glad that I've grown as a person since the wild and crazy 80's :)
