Nancy's Story
Life
After high school I continued on to college and acquired a degree in Computer Science before beginning a fifteen year career in Systems Analysis and Design. My career carried me to many other states and through many challenges. I had opportunities to live in Pheonix, Arizona; Killington, Vermont; and Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. I made many new friends and enjoyed a variety of experiences. However when I met my Mr. Right I left all of that to move to Birmingham, Michigan and set out for the high seas on a sailing yacht. We have cruised to Bermuda, Nova Scotia, Antigua, St. Eustatius, St Maarten, St. Barth, British and US Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad and down the coast of the Northern US from Maine to New York and across the Atlantic Ocean to Portugal in our 44 foot sailboat. We have also enjoyed land and air travels and have gone to England, Ireland, Brazil, Holland, Spain, British Columbia, Toronto and many states in the US. I often think of the friends that I had in High School and wonder what became of them. If you are out there...keep your eyes open you just never know what port of call we will be anchored in next!

eturned home after completing what is called an Atlantic Circle route in a 44ft sailboat with just one other person on board. We started our journey in Tortola of the British Virgin Islands, then sailed to Bermuda which took 9 days at sea, next we sailed on to the Azores (of the coast of Portugal) which took 14 days at sea, Then another 8 days at sea brought us into port in Portugal. We next entered the Canary Islands following a 7 day sail, where we then set sail for the British Virgin Islands arriving in Tortola after a 24 day sail. It was a great experience with new cultures and places! I do wish that I had paid a little more attention in Spanish class though!
Happy New Year all! It is January 2010 and I am in Whistler British Columbia Canada enjoying a few weeks of skiing before the Olympics arrive and flood the village and hills with crowds. It is fantastic up here right now the mountains have a good base built up and the slope grooming is keeping them in nice shape. We expect snow within the upcoming week. Although no new snow has fallen since my arrival here a few days ago, the skiing has been wonderful and the runs not too crowded. My only wish is that I had made use of our own ski hills in WV when I was in high school!
