Nancy's Story

Life So here we are again...our lives passing each other in timeless serendipity!! How enchanting!! My life has brought me many obstacles and many triumphs..I have learned more than I thought I would ever need to learn but I am grateful for the ride! I married right out of high school (first lesson)Ha...for 20 years and have seven children. They are the jewels in my life and my greatest lessons. I have been divorced for 20 years and feel I am on the last hill of my life and having a ball!! I have 12 grandchildren and one on the way due in March! I hope to discuss more intimate details with ol' friends and learn of their precious lives and the path they are now on. May life bring joy to all of us, and may peace fill the world!! In 2009 I married Ralph McCormick. We are still married living separately. It seems to work! Ha! I am finding many couples are either having their own separate bedroom or even, like us, living across town from each other. We have always been friends. It is nice to have someone to count on for both of us. I have learned a lot from having Ralph in my life. He helps me a great deal and is the "silly clown" in my life which keeps me laughing. I just hope I can be as good a friend to him and he is to me. School There are many things I remember about Glendale High. I used to have many dreams of not being able to get my locker open/those darn combination lockers! Ha..I remember the entire 3 years we were there the school was being remodeled. Lot's of hammering/sawing. Turned out to be a pretty with a beautiful new auditorium. I am happy that we got to experience the old and the new. Remember Ms. Ness, the dance teacher? I really liked her. Also Mr. Romans the Drama teacher who had an affair with a senior student. He was asked to leave after that. Boo Hoo. I really liked his teaching style. So Dance and Drama were my two favorite classes. Right brained? yea. My Spanish teacher would usually have to wake me up during second period. Just couldn't stay awake in that class. He was a cool guy. My love life as a child basically, was simple, I dated a young man from Montrose High....Expand for more
Proms and dances thrilled me. My own kids never really wanted to go to theirs. I could never understand that. I remember the plays, Shakespeare readers theater, rehearsals and cast parties. Oh it was such a fun time! I had a crush on a few guys but never let them know. How silly I was and shy. To name a few, just for fun...John Parker, Monty Paul , Brad Elliot, Carl Hoye, Bob Ferguson, David Yohe, Leonard Coutin. Bill Wyatt. I must say I was attracted to the gentle spirits/strong in their opinions but respected mine as well. Hey girlfriends? Remember when we had those special days we could actually wear pants to school? Wow! That was a real treat! My kids can't even relate to that. Kinda wish us ladies wore them more often now. But I do love my jeans. Before the old school was completely gone a few of my drama classmates and I went digging through some old papers and boxes and found a picture of John Wayne, yea the actor? And saw he attended Glendale High! That was so cool to find? Perhaps some of you can remember more of those days. The feeling I still have is that those few years were some of the best in my life. Yea! I would do it again only not be so shy and tell those adoring young men how awesome they were! I added a pic of me and my 7 children. It's the only pic I have of all of us in a portrait. It was taken in 1993. My baby is now 21 so we look different now. Hopefully this pic will give some idea of my family. Aug 5, 2013 I have moved to a small city Hurricane, Ut. It is slower paced but St George is only 16 miles away. I love it hear. I bought a home on 1/2 acre. It is so me! Lots of fruit trees, grapes, nuts and I am building a greenhouse and adding 12 more grow beds to the 12 I have already put in. Ralph and I build these things together. We also built a large chicken coop and run. Love those feathered friends!! It is so fun. I have always loved living out in nature and this is about as close to that as I can get. Looking forward to finishing up these big projects so I can just do the normal gardening and caretaking. Didn't get any camping done this year but maybe next.
