Nancy E. Finch-Halliday passed on to a more peaceful place on March 22, 2008, after fighting four major battles with cancer over 20 years. Nancy was born on April 22, 1946 in Montebello CA. She attended UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona, and finished her Bachelor's degree in history at Humboldt State University in 1972.
She worked in administration for 13 years at HSU. She was also a dedicated and inspirational teacher for 15 years at Eureka City Schools, and the Humboldt County Sheriff's Dept.
She will be remembered by many as an artist through her array of exquisite quilts, and extensive catalog of photographs.

the countless hours she spent happily working in her quilting studio.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Michael; her son Sean Clemenza, and his wife Yvette Hernandez; Her daughter Nova Clemenza; the father of her children, Frank Clemenza; her sisters, Sally Diomartich, Lucy Finch, and Patty Dayneko; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family, and many friends.
A memorial service was held at one of her favorite places, Patricks Point State Park, amidst a gathering of Ravens. Our Native American friend William McCovey III sang for Nancy to aid her journey into the spirit world.
Nancy's best friends husband, Austin Allie, provided other musical accompaniment, which included our song, "Unchained Melody". Her family also read passages of a spiritual nature from divergent sources which had provided her with comfort and strength during her passage.
