Nancy's Story
I have 2 kids, a son and a daughter and have been married to the same great guy for over 30 years. We've lived in Alaska for just as long but currently have been in Anchorage, Alaska for 11 years. Before that we lived in Nome, St. Marys, Fairbanks and Kenai, all Alaskan cities. Nome & St Mary's are in Southwestern Alasak and are considered "the bush", meaning they are remote Alaskan Native villages/towns. We enjoyed our time in these communities but I prefer to live in Anchorage because of the wild, scenic beauty of the area-Cook Inlet is fantastic as is the Chugach Mountain Range. lights, the aspen and birch trees and the wildflowers. I also enjoy having a garden and lots of flowers.
My son graduated from high school last year and is training to be a pilot. My daughter is going to med school on the East Coast. My husband, who graduated from Bishop Amat, is a biologist and I am an accountant. Our lives are very busy between the kids, church and community activities. It's a good life.
I didn't graduate from La Puente High but everyone I grew up with went there. I transferred as a Sophomore to Los Altos. I am looking forward to catching up with some of my former classmates.
