Nancy's Story
Life
When I graduated from Douglas MacArthur HS in 1979 I attended Delta College and recieved an associated degree in applied science and became a dental assisstant. I worked in the dental clinic for several years then decided to return to college to follow my dream of becoming a teacher. I attended SVSU and got my bachelors degree in teaching, graduating in 2002. I worked for 25 at the Saginaw ISD/Millet Learning Center. I just recently retired from teaching and am looking forward to finding out what to do next. I have 2 daughters and 2 grand daughters that I love spending time with. I enjoy traveling to different places, riding my bike, and working in my garden and most of all hanging out with family and friends. ne else thought, it seems silly now. This last year was a crazy one-looking forward to finding out what the new year has for me.
College
My college experience was a lot different than a typical student out of highschool because I didnt go to SVSU until I was married and had kids. Plus I had allready worked a full time job for 18 years. Most of my classes had mixed ages, from young kids 18-25, to older people like me. I get along great with all ages so it was no problem, but I had to laugh one day when some of us went out to eat to celebrate finishing a big project for a class and one of the other students started talking about their mom. I realized I was the same age as their mom and she could be my kid. The best part of it was she never knew I was that "old" she couldn't believe it when she found out my age. So bottom line school keeps you young!
