Nancy's Story

Life After graduating from Broad Ripple, I entered the working world. I started at Indiana Bell Telephone in 1969. I went to IUPUI to get my degree in Computer Programming and worked full time. In 1980 I became part of AT&T. In 1985, I became a computer programmer and got transferred to New Jersey. I got my Associates degree in Computer Programming from a community college that doesn't exist anymore. In 1988, I decided I'd had enough of the East Coast and transferred to AT&T in Cincinnati, OH. Still while working full time I received my BS in Computers from the College of Mount Saint Joseph. I then started by Master's Degree in Information Technology from t...Expand for more
he University of Colorado. I became a systems engineer and in 2002 I retired. We then moved to a small town in Southern Indiana (East Enterprise, population 250), where my husband and I enjoy the quiet rural way of life (with the deer, wild turkeys, cows, horses, and such). We have 3 children. The 2 girls live in Indianapolis and our son lives in Cincinnati. We have 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The girls and their families are my step-family, but I love them as if they were my own. I became a widow in February on 2008. I am still trying to adjust to being alone. I haven't decided if I'm going to stay here or move back to Indy. Time will tell.
