Nancy's Story
After high school, I went to work and became a legal secretary for a single practitioner here in Sacramento. After two years, I relocated to Orange County where I worked for a very large law firm that had over 80 attorneys. Talk about culture shock. I met my husband at a "Hot Pants Party" in 1970. We took a trip around the United States in 1972 and traveled over 22,000 miles, saw 44 states and their capitols and were gone for three months. Had some amazing adventures and made incredible memories on that adventure. r. We moved back to Sacramento in 1975. Our daughter was born in 1976 and our son in 1978. My husband taught at Cosumnes River College and Folsom Lake College until a cancer diagnosis in 2003 forced his retirement. He passed away in November of 2014. We celebrated our 43rd anniversary just before he died. I was a stay at home mom until my kids got into high school. I went back to school and became a travel agent for the next ten years. I was my own best customer. We added the remaining 6 states and crossed many other countries and destinations off our bucket lists. I live in Orangevale and have four amazing grandchildren who keep me busy and make me very happy.
