Nancy's Story
I'm married to a Jasper Place grad, Dr. Jeff Curry, who is a retired music professor, and we have 2 daughters. One is an aspiring writer living in BC, and her younger sister is an event production assistant in the USA.
I am now pursuing an interdisciplinary PhD at the. University of Victoria in Applied Theatre and Education, researching a narrative role-playing drama curriculum for teens with autism,

Nancy (Millions) Curry holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she studied collaborative piano and opera coaching. She continued her studies with two seasons as an apprentice coach at the Banff Centre. She has served as outreach music director for Edmonton Opera and Nevada Opera and more recently completed two seasons as the music director of the San Diego...Expand for more
Opera Ensemble, a group of young professionals that tours southern California schools and communities.
As a teacher, Ms. Curry has held opera coaching positions at Bethany College (Kansas), the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of Alberta, the Banff Centre and taught vocal jazz and theory at Nebraska Central Community College. She is recently completed 5 years as the staff accompanist and opera coach at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Ms. Curry has arranged and music directed productions of modern chamber operas at the Edmonton Fringe Festival and won the Omaha Theatre Arts Guild award for music direction with Shelterbelt Theatre of Omaha. With interests that span a broad spectrum of vocal arts, Ms. Curry has studied extended voice technique, musical theatre pedagogy, and vocal jazz.
