Nancy's Story
Last October my husband and I drove through Valpo on our return to Minnesota. We drove past Northview Elementary, the new and old high schools, my old homestead, and the downtown area. I had not been back since the late 70's and it was fun to revisit if briefly. Since graduation I have lived in Barranquilla, Colombia(2 years), Lookout Mt, TN(2 years), St. Louis, MO(20 years), and Minneapolis, MN(20 years). In St. Louis I began my career as Spanish teacher. 's, go through a divorce in my early 50's and remarry in my late 50's. I wish I had known earlier on that life is a process, a journey and had not been so impatient or hard on myself. But as we all learn, these are the things that make us who we are. Today I am happily married and retired:), and I have an adult daughter and 3 adult stepdaughters.My husband and I love to travel, mostly nationally, though we have been to Costa Rica and Spain with students. Our bucket list includes visiting all the national parks.
