Nancy's Story
"Sweet Memories"
I remember how I waited every day for my sisters and brothers to get off the bright yellow school bus. I couldn't wait until the day I would be joining them everyday going to the bus stop to embark upon my journey to begin school. I felt a loneliness when they left home in the morning to go to the bus stop. I could see the bus sstop from the front porch of our house. After the bus picked them up, I would go about my day doing whatever for the day which included letter writing to my friends and pretending to mail the letters. I think my my mind was programmed with the time because when it was time for the bus to return I was always there when it appeared. Little did I know that I would not be on that bus for another three school terms. I was in for a rude awakening when I realized that I would be going to the Primary School (Dwyer-Tindal Primary School)across from that bus stop almost exactly in front of our house. I didn't realize that my sister and brother that were in first and third grade were at school in the Primary School across the road. They were released from school when the bu...Expand for more
st returned because the bus picked up students from the primary school to take them back home after the school session was over. After the excitement wore off from me being so anxious to ride the yellow bus, I setteled down for three years of learning the three R's so to speak. Thus beginning my culmination. I always envision myself as a nurse when I grew. Everyone thought that I actually would become a nurse. Wrong! As it turned out, I realized I am not to fond of the Human Blood and of all things Needles and Syringes. To this day I cringe at the sight of needles. I am happy with a career in the Real Estate Market which I love. I would love to see my high school classmates at the Reunion on December 26, 2008. I may have missed the basketball trophies I tried for but I have numerous Soccer Trophies. Yipee! My grandsons say they win them all for their Nandi! I still like basketball, but soccer is the game I love now. I have two oldest and dear friends; one I met when we started school at the primary school; the other one I met when we were in the sixth grade. We are, I guess what one would say, "Friends Forever."
