Nancy's Story
Life
My life has gone through many changes since graduation. I have been married, divorced after 4 mos to a complete and utter jerk, and now remarried to a wonderful man for 2 years. We have a daughter on the way in April (2005). I am a first grade teacher in Cicero District #99. Both my husband and I love getting tattooed (we both have 4)---I highly recommend World Class on Harlem in Berwyn.

those places made me realize that private school is not necessarily providing a better education, but an education in prejudice and intolerance of public school students as inferior beings. Needless to say, our conflicting philosophies resulted in my switching to the public school sector. I then began teaching first grade at Liberty Elementary in Cicero. My assistant principal in 8th grade just so happens to be the principal of Liberty now, and it is nice to work in the district I grew up in--lots of familiar faces. :) The students may be challenging, but it is a rewarding career.
