Nancy's Story
Technically I was not at graduation in '65, cause I was already in college by then, but I did miss being with all my classmates at that time. Maybe you won¿t be too surprised to learn that I married a Bible Presbyterian Minister. We started in Tennessee but soon were called to Tacoma, Washington, where we served for 36 years. We started a Christian school, at which I taught music to grades K through 8 for 20 years. I especially loved working with the middle school choir. I also taught home school music for a couple of years, played the piano for my church and worked with the choir and planned special music. As pastor's wife I discovered many things I could do that I never dreamed of in high school. I did a lot of speaking, organized church banquets, worked with the youth group, was a counselor at summer camp, and the main cook for the teen camp for 20+ years. The kids used to make up songs and poems about the good food, so I guessed they liked it. We have entertained many missionaries and pastors over the years, so I'm thankful to have made many, many good friends. I worked part time in a ladies¿ clothing store for many years, even went to Market to order the next season¿s styles, and I worked for the County Auditor as well.

the ministry, we were able to do a lot of traveling --to Europe, the British Isles, Turkey, Syria, Israel, Kenya, and we spent 3 months in Australia in 2004. That was a dream come true!
We have one wonderful son, who recently married the great granddaughter of the founding pastor of the Tacoma church. Now we are "retired," but my husband is filling the pulpit at the Marcus Hook Bible Presbyterian Church on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. (We are close enough to get to Collingswood occasionally, but it is strange to come home after so many years away.) I play the piano here and teach Sunday School and a ladies' Bible study.
In 2012 we loaded our things and drove home from Marcus Hook to really retire. We dug up the weeds in our yard and planted a fantastic garden. We have 10 sections to plant, water, weed. It keeps us busy. We also enjoyed our 3 grandchildren, the first was born when Robert was 73, so our friends have great grands while we are just starting. We held church in our living room for a couple of years, now we are helping a new work begin near Seattle- a 45 minute drive. We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary. The Lord Jesus Christ has blessed us abundantly and I am thankful for every day we have been able to live for Him.
