Nancy's Story

After finishing college, I worked for GMAC in New York City. Got married to Phil in 1959-we ultimately had six children 0ver the course of 15 years. We lived in Brooklyn when the children were young and besides being active in our church, I belonged to a little theatre in the neighbor. We were involved in Marraige Encounter for several years. Moved to Pearl River,NY (in Rockland County) in 1977. Got my RN at the local community college and worked as a nurse in many of the local hospitals, did private homecare, worked as a school nurse, and finally retired from Prucare in 1998. cies-we are at present getting prepared for a mass vaccination effort in Aiken County. I also volunteer at a free medical clinic here in Aiken. Celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in June, will be celebrating with all our children and nine grandchildren at a family weekend in Virginia, since everyone is scattered from New Jersey to California. When I have any leisure time, we travel. We have a trip planned in a month to Spain. The most unusual thing we did was to go to the 500 mile garage sale on Rt. 127, which goes from Alabama to Ohio-only went on the Tennessee stretch and spent about $50 between us. Met lots of nice folks from all over the country-had fun, but won't do it again, unless they start one in SC. I hope people remember me as fun and caring.
