Nancy's Story
After spending the last 18 years as a technical illustrator with the Rockwell International industry, I semi-retired into something a lot more fun.
In 2000, I changed my profession.
I now travel all over North America, teaching workshops in Art Doll and animal making.
It is a lot of fun and getting paid for it is even better!
In the Spring of 2007, I spent a week in Victoria, BC. The local Doll Club invited me up there to teach making one of my character dolls. What a beautiful place. And the weather is so great! I think I could move into that area easily.
I taught in ABQ, New Mexico every year, at the CIFI conference there, and was on the board of directors for 5 years. New Mexico is another place I could move to, in a heartbeat!
I have met so many wonderful people since I have started teaching.
In 2014, I started a conference for doll makers here in Chicago. What fun to have workshops so close, with out so much traveling! I should have done this a lot sooner! It is held in Countryside, IL. I run it every 2 years, and the next one is in 2018, from Sept 27th through the 3oth. If you are interested to see what I look like now, look up Windy C...Expand for more
