Nancy's Story
Life
My husband, Ron and I, have been living in Delaware since he retired from the Air Force in 1979. I am presently working as an Analytical Chemistry Technician II, with the Delaware Department of Agriculture and part time at Dover Downs Slots on their Special Events staff. I volunteer in our local hospital, the USO on Dover Air Force Base, and occasionally for the Salvation Army soup kitchen. Ron and I volunteer with the American Red Cross for Kent County, Delaware. We are on the Disaster Action Team for Kent County.

ly/August 2003. When Hurricane Rita hit Louisiana in 2005, I was sent as a single resource to Jennings, Louisiana, where I joined an Incident Management Team from Idaho. I spent 6 days working with the team and a national guard unit. Our job was to oversee and manage receiving and delivery of water, ice and MRE's to those who were in need. I have lived a very full life and thank God for letting me do all that I have done. January 20, 2009 I had the pleasure of marching in the Inaugural Parade in Washington, D. C. with over 400 other Delaware Volunteer Firefighters. Vice President Joseph Biden is the President Emeritis of the DVFA. No matter what your politics when you are less than 20 feet from the leaders of our country it is an exciting and memorable moment. One I'll never forget
