Natalie's Story
Life
I'm divorced w/ no children. Last year was extremely tough. But, with the help of amazing family and friends, I've moved forward quicker than I ever thought expected.
Life is great! :)
I teach 1st grade in SAISD. My family, friends and of course, students are my life. I have been fortunate to get back in contact w/ several friends from high school and college.
Would love to reconnect w/ more!
Blessings to all of you in Classmateland!
Hope to hear from you soon!!!
School
The teacher that inspired me the most was not in high school. He was my middle school teacher from St. Margaret Mary's. He continues to inspire me to this day. His name is Mr. Schott.
I started attending St. Margaret Mary's in the 4th grade. I remember hearing the older students talk about him. I hoped that he would be there long enough for me to have the opportunity to have him as a teacher. He was and still is a teacher there. My younger sister also had the privelege of having him teach her. He went above and beyond for the students, parents and staff. He still does. Mr. Schott gave 150% everyday...still does.
He is the reason I became a teacher. I will never forget his work ethic, his compassion for others, his enthusiasm, and love of teaching. Not a day went by that he didn't show his passion for his career. You can still find him at St. Margaret...Expand for more
Mary's inspiring others. He never quits! I hope he never does. There is not another teacher out there like Mr. Schott.
What can I say...he is a gift from God to all of his students and to people everywhere!
He is a man of God and it certainly shows in everything he says and does.
I was blessed to be one of his many students.
Workplace
The first job I had was being an asst. dance instructor at age 14. That lasted 2 yrs. I didn't work again until the end of my senior yr. in high school. I was a rollerskater in the show "Wheels" for Sea World of Tx for 1 Summer. I was called back to rollerskate for their Winter Christmas show. Later that year, I became a dance
instructor for another studio...lasted about 4 yrs. After that, I worked for HEB. During this time I was attending college to become an Elem. School teacher. In 1998, I finally graduated from UTSA...it took me forever to finish school, b/c I was in and out of the hospital having numerous surgeries. I began working at a charter school...didn't last long...they had lots of problems. I then started substitute teaching at a Catholic school and that's how I got my foot in the door. The next yr. the principal asked me to work there as a 2nd grade teacher...I was there for 3 yrs. Then I made the move to public school. I will be starting my 4th yr. as a 1st grade teacher w/ SAISD.
