Natelle's Story

Catch People Up on Me: Major screwups for 20 years and then another 10 years of not so major screwups. Can you tell I am too tired to write this right now? But wanted to write something. I'm doing okay! I am doing better though I also sort of feel like I'm headed to homelessness. Somewhere in the middle. I just hope some people remember me and wonder how I am doing. But I wasn't around a lot in high school... So if they remember at all, that is good. To unwind... I lay on my king size bed and watch TV with 4 of my cats. Or visit a friend that's fostering kittens. Or swim or walk. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coworkers that understand me, a boss I can trust to forgive some casualness, and appreciation to be able to deal with the day-to-day. People that inspire me: a friend that I met that's so funny and positive and has figured out how to help cats without becoming overwhelmed. My group therapist inspires me by being very entertaining the way he runs the groups--there's always something very interesting going on. I grew up in Clairemont & then UC as a teen; at age 22 I lived for about 9 years in a little studio apartment on Linda Vista Road, lived for a few years back in Clairemont so I cou...Expand for more
ld have roommates and a cat, then I moved back to Kearny Mesa for 3 with a boyfriend, then to North Park by myself, where I've stayed for the past 8 years. I really like being in the heart of the city around old buildings and good restaurants. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Rene Lea, because she was a sweet friend. There are several people I would like to see and wish I had maintained good relationships with. I didn't appreciate people that cared enough! "What's been your biggest surprise?" Well it wasn't all that surprising, that's the biggest surprise, so far anyway. I'm not done yet. My English teachers were very good. Two women and I don't remember their names. They cared ... My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be about ready for death. I was so completely wrong. Yes; I'm working hard. I'd like to make myself indispensable in my job so I feel more secure. Some honesty: My best friend would tell you I'm difficult, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as nice. I dress now like I wanted to dress 30 years ago. I share my home with 7 cats, which I find tiring but they care about me and are easier than people.
